10 tips and tricks to better reply to an ad
When you reply to an ad, you are hardly the only one doing so. The announcer usually receives several replies, and will usually choose those that are clear and pertinent. The others may simply be ignored.
To be amongst those whose replies will be treated with more seriousness, follow these short tips:
1- Present yourself, whatever the announcement. One usually wants to know with who he is dealing with before proceeding. Be very clear and precise. If possible, give your name, age, professional situation, town, and country. The person whose ad you are replying should be able to know who you are in a few sentences.
2- Say why you feel you are fit for the ad. Do not keep the announcer guessing. If you are replying to an ad for a computer technician, saying you are a computer technician might not be sufficient. Recall your professional experiences, your technical know-how, or your aspirations. Show you are really eager to have the job.
If you are replying to a real estate ad, say if you agree with the price or wish to negotiate. Demand physical rendez-vous if applicable.
3- Recall your preferred means of contact. If it's by mail, recall your email at the end of your reply. If it's by telephone, or by mail, put your telephone number.
4- Check that your email or other contact info is well written out. It’s with this information that you will be contacted.
5- Reply preferably in the language of the ad.
6- If there are any financial transactions, state clearly your preferred mode of payment (check, money transfers, cash etc ).
7 - Space out your reply. Leave paragraphs and format as much as possible. Put yourself in your reader’s shoes. If your ad is not comfortable reading, the announcer might ignore your response.
8- If possible, attach documents or images. Kerawa.com permits you to attach Word , PDF or image documents. If the ad is a job offer, post your CV. If it’s a modelling ad, send your pictures. Put all chances to your side.
9- Check your mail often for replies. It is a pain communicating with one who replies after many days. If email will be too slow for you, think of using another means of communication, e.g telephone.
10 - Check Kerawa.com often to be the first to reply. A car dealer selling cars will usually sell to the first bidders. This is not a "He who laughs last laughs best" environment.
